Ruby on Rails Developer

Agora Games, a company that offers online services to the video game industry, is looking to hire a Ruby on Rails developer.

Agora Games develops online video game technology and provides online community development services to developers and publishers. Agora's online gaming communities are fully integrated solutions that interface directly with video games on a PC, console, or handheld device. Our technology makes compelling gameplay informative available to players in-game, while providing publishers with a wealth of demographic information.

Job Requirements:

• B.S. in Computer Science (or similar field), or equivalent experience.
• Experience in developing web applications, preferably using a web development framework (such as Ruby on Rails, CakePHP, Django, Struts, etc.)
• Thorough knowledge in one or more of the following languages: Ruby, JavaScript, Python, Lisp, PHP, C/C++, Java.
• Experience with OOP, functional programming a plus.
• Comfortable with design patterns, especially Model-View-Controller (MVC) pattern.
• Comfortable with SQL and database design; MySQL knowledge preferred.
• Proficient in HTML, CSS, and XML. Experience with AJAX a plus.
• Comfortable using a UNIX shell.
